Episode III: Turtleman to the rescue! (Part IV)

BAM SON!

Did this for an art assignment but realised I could use it for the LOF production. A clenched fist representing strength & the power to hold on, Fijian strength.

Episode III: Turtleman to the rescue! (Part III)

Sowoooooop!

Here's a cyclone piece, broken & battered like. Cracks & breaks in there, wind swirls on the C & the E. The O is an Eyeball with some infection going on in there, red once again.

Ideas

Here are some more ideas. Have a look at the state of the economy and the fact that National have just proposed more mining in the Coromandel and on Great Barrier. Think about the fact that we may change our stance on Whaling, why? Why are we changing our policies?
Are we still a " Green" country?
Do you think that profit or value can be something that is not in a monetary form ( ie. our National parks, clean air etc...)
How does this affect you as the next generation?
Get at me with ideas.
Also, the article being written about the project is a good way  to voice your opinions, I don't care what they are as long as you are honest. You, as citizens of Aotearoa New Zealand have the right to give your honest opinion/s.
Or don't if you do not feel comfortable doing so. It is entirely up to you.
Yours sincerely

Yes

I like where this is going Turtle. I'm going to be painting with you this weekend, what imagery could be created to go along with the Suva piece?
Bring some more sketches to the website.
Also, a journalist has approached me asking about the project ( in a positive way ) he is interested in interviewing you this week after school, anyone keen? It would be a good chance to explain your work to the greater public.
Txt me up.

Episode III: Turtleman to the rescue! (Part II)

Turtle on the scene

If we're doing the cyclone as our theme, this goes out to the Fijians. Suva is the capitol of Fiji, so I did a Suva piece. Nothing special, got my favourite colour red up in there.

One time for the Fijians

New Theme

Hello
Firstly, let me congratulate you on your second completed project. You all met the criteria and produced work that was/is still your own style.
This fortnights theme is your response (as a group ) to a news article. As a group you must choose one article that causes you as a group to respond to strongly. You must then create a single artwork that is your artistic response to the article. Rather than doing individual pieces, you must create an entire production with each member contributing to this. It must include letters and images. You must treat the wall as one artwork working together as a group.
As a group you must decide how you utilise each others capabilites ( good and bad points ) to create the one artwork.
Yours sincerely
The Co-ordinator.

Feedback

Shape, excellent work on the integration of the soccer theme, you have maintained your own style while taking you families to create something that speaks of two generations.
Turtle, I really like the coconut charo, have a think about how traditional Samoan art is constructed of shapes and think about how this could influence the way you construct your letters. Remember that experimentation as well as research is the key.
Josh, I really like the hybrid creature you have created. How detailed will you go when painting it on the day, what colours will you use?
P.s I've ordered a shit load of paint so this weekend we can go bananas. D.L.T will be this projects guest artist.

Episode II: Turtle Island (Part I)

Turtle's back in the fale

Talofa lava! Fresh from the pacific island of Samoa. Some lazy doodles, check out my Coconut man! I was just drawing things that are related to the Samoan culture, didn't go too deep into thought though. Coconut tree & bird silhouettes, Samoa throwie & Faleatiu in red writing. Faleatiu is the name of my village in Samoa, best village in all of Samoa. Malo.
